Editor's Note
I had a great time attending the events in our area last weekend. It gives me the opportunity to meet some wonderful people and really appreciate our community. When I was driving home from one of the events, I realized how lucky we are. We live in such a great area that caters to children. I don't believe there are too many communities that offer the same opportunities. The library alone has some wonderful programs for children of all ages. For instance, my son, who is obsessed with the art of Origami , is taking a program offered during Spring break, and my daughter, a passionate reader, is attending a free 3-part series on Charles Dickens taught by a Yale professor.
Did you know that on any given weekend, the Macaroni Calendar has between 20 - 25 affordable and local daily activities for children? Check it out and take advantage of what is out there for your kids. I often post events to the calendar weeks ahead, so be sure to click through it so you don't miss out on any registration deadlines or ticket purchases.
Out and About. On Friday, March 30, Macaroni Kid will be shopping The Green Turtle Planet Consignment Sale taking place March 30 & 31, at 5 Meetinghouse Lane in Woodbridge. Macaroni Kid will then be heading over to the “Big Night Out” for a fun adult evening at the McClinch Family Center, 190 Shelton Road, Trumbull.
Saturday, March 31, Macaroni Kid will be having fun at the “Block Party” being held at Plaza South, 274 South Main Street in Newtown from 11:00am – 4pm. Union Savings Bank located at the Plaza will serve as the block party starting point, providing plaza passports that participating businesses will stamp. There will be various activities including free face painting, arts and crafts, a fire truck and race car display, food, wine tasting and a bouncy house. The party ends at Good Ideas where attendees can submit their stamped passports for a chance to win the plaza raffle, which is a basket full of prizes.
