Local Apple/Pumpkin Picking Guide

Apple and pumpkin picking season is approaching quite quickly!  Believe it or not, there are some farms that have already begun their apple picking season.  Fall is my absolute favorite season!  I love how the leaves change, the smell of a bonfire, a cozy sweater, comfort foods, picking apples and pumpkins, too.  I put together a list of places to go for all of your pumpkin and apple picking needs.  As always, please call your farm prior to traveling as seasonal conditions may affect hours of operation.  Enjoy!


Bishop Orchards in Guilford

Pick your own apples, corn maze, hay maze, pumpkin patch, farmers market with baked goods, unique gifts, fresh produce and more available for purchase. Raspberries, peaches, pears, and some apples are ready for picking.  Bishop Orchards

Beardsley Cider Mill & Orchard, LLC in Shelton

Pick your own apples on the weekends only.  Fresh cider, apples, pies, cider donuts fruit breads, maple syrup, local honey and unique gifts available for purchase.  Apples will be ready for picking on September 15th.  Go here for more information Beardsley's

Drazen Orchards in Cheshire

Pick your own apples.  Take a peek at the farm stand while you're visiting. Peaches, pears, nectarines, prune plums, and some apples are ready for picking.  Drazen Orchards

Jones Family Farm in Shelton

Pick your own pumpkin, hay rides, farm animals, corn maze, fall flowers, apples available for purchase and more. Pumpkin picking season begins late September/early October.  Jones Family Farm


Lyman Orchards in Middlefield

Silverman’s Farm in Easton

Pick your own apples and check out the pumpkin patch (most likely not quite ready for pumpkin season).  Silverman’s has a petting zoo, baked goods, produce, ice cream, and unique crafts for sale.  Go to Silverman’s Farm for more details on apple and pumpkin picking.  Peach picking season has begun and some apples are currently ready for picking.
