What if I told you that I found the perfect place to have a birthday party where the venue doesn’t charge by the person and you wouldn’t have to worry about those pesky “no shows?” Birthday parties are becoming a little tricky as my son gets older. I have to worry about the budget and most party venues have a maximum of ten per party package with an additional cost for each extra child. What if I told you that this place caters to every age group including tweens, teens, and adults! We recently had the best birthday party at Star Factory in Stratford for our six year old son. Star Factory is a party and music studio with locations in Trumbull and Stratford. You can rent out Star Factory for a birthday party for two hours (or more!). The price is reasonable and includes the venue, entertainment, DJ and a host or two to help with your party! You can invite up to 50 (yes, 50) of your closest friends/family, place an order for a pizza delivery, provide beverages and voila, you have yourself a rockin’ party!

We celebrated our son’s birthday at Star Factory in Stratford. My son told us he wanted to invite his entire class and some of his other friends so our guest list was for 30 kids. I checked other venues in the area and most places have party packages for up to ten kids and then charge an additional $20 or more for each additional child and the party packages don’t include food and beverages. I started to wonder where could we invite that many kids to a party that didn’t “break the bank” so I called Star Factory having known the place after attending a birthday party there not too long ago.

Lou Zayas and his daughter Devin were really wonderful in assisting with the arrangements. We booked the date and venue, I called a local pizza place to have pies delivered, decorated with a few balloons and tablecloths, brought in some beverages and light snacks and we were all set to party!

The kids arrived around noon and took pictures by the Star Factory wall with some funny props I had purchased then mingled for a few minutes. The lights were dimmed and the dance floor was lit up with cool disco colors and the DJ, Lou, was ready to do his thing. Lou, who is also a musician and voice coach, was so funny, his enthusiasm was contagious and he engaged every single child in fun age appropriate games like the limbo. The kids sang on microphones, danced through a smoke machine and partied for two hours. They had a blast! I was a little concerned that our shy friends would not have fun, but they were the first ones on the dance floor! Lou had such a way with the children, he got them to participate in games without any effort, had them laughing, and gave them each their own personal rock star name. He called my son Justin Bieber! The kids got a real kick out of being named after a music artist! The pizza arrived about an hour into the party so the kids took a break to eat then danced some more, then we topped the afternoon off with birthday cake and a dance contest. The kids had so much fun!

This is the perfect place if you want to try something new and different for your child’s birthday. They cater to all age groups, and even offer late night parties for adults. We had a few tweens at our party who spent the entire time on the dance floor too. You can also reserve Star Factory for fundraisers, special celebrations, girls night out, or any other type of function. Star Factory will provide the venue, a fabulous DJ and a host - you can tailor your party to however you need.

Star Factory also holds classes in theater, hip hop, music for toddlers, and they even offer voice lessons and coaching. The directors who run each of the programs have a strong background and plenty of experience in their field. They are currently running classes for Theatrix (theater and acting), Star Factory Glee Club (this class for kids who love to sing), Hip Hop (learn hip hop from one of the best choreographers in the business) and toddler classes (rock out with your little star).
