Holiday Express Train Show @ Fairfield Museum Nov. 27 - Jan. 3

A holiday tradition full of model trains, wintery landscapes and family fun chugs into town this week! The Holiday Express Train Show at the Fairfield Museum (370 Beach Road) opens on Friday, Nov. 27 and runs through Sunday, Jan 3. See model trains travel through villages, up and down mountainsides, and across snowy fields. Train-themed items and other holiday gifts are on sale in the Museum Shop. 

2020 Train Show Hours and Admission are Monday – Friday, 10am – 1pm; Saturday and Sunday, 10am – 4pm; closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. On weekdays during the school vacation week (December 23, 24, 26, 30 and 31), the Show will be open from 10am-4pm.

This year, to ensure the safety of our visitors, the Fairfield Museum has made some changes to the show’s format. Tickets must be purchased online in advance for specific sessions for all who plan to attend. Walk-in attendance will not be allowed. A maximum of 24 visitors will be permitted in the Museum per session and sessions will be limited to 50 minutes. Tickets will be  released for purchase on Nov. 22 for sessions between November 27 - December 6 and every Sunday through December 27 for sessions the following week

Admission for Fairfield Museum members and Children five years and younger is free. Tickets for nonmembers six and older are $5 per person. All visitors, including "free" members and children under five, must order tickets online allowing the Museum to manage capacity limitations. For those entitled to free admission, a coupon code will be provided and applied on the payment page. From November 27 through January 3, the Museum is running a special membership promotion.  All who sign up are entitled to an extra six months FREE – which means all visits to this year’s and next year’s Holiday Express Train Show will be free of charge. Members also receive discounts on programs including summer camp, unlimited free admission to the research library, guest passes for friends, and a discount at the Museum Shop, where items are always tax free.
