The Catholic Academy of Bridgeport is one school on four campuses that serves 800 students from diverse backgrounds. Our campuses share one mission: to provide a Christ-centered academic learning environment for students in grades PreK-8th who come from Bridgeport and surrounding towns.

We embrace all faiths while maintaining our Catholic traditions. 60% of our students identify as Catholic and 40% identify as non-Catholic.

We are fully accredited by the state of Connecticut and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and our school-wide curriculum promotes a rigorous standard of teaching and learning. Our students graduate with confidence and the ability to succeed in life. 100% go on to graduate from high school, and 99% go on to college or post-secondary school. We like to say that the pathway to college begins at the Catholic Academy of Bridgeport!

It is our mission to care for the whole child -- body, mind and spirit -- and to promise our students and families, “Something More.” This includes before and after school childcare for working parents, as well as generous need-based financial assistance to every family who qualifies. We work individually with each family to make sure our school is an affordable option, and we are proud of our longstanding tradition of offering student aid; we believe this strengthens our entire community.

On each of the Catholic Academy of Bridgeport’s four campuses you will find:

  • High academic standards. Our standardized test scores proves that our children, on average, are at or above the national average in reading, math and language. Our strong curriculum also extends to weekly classes in music, art, gym and foreign language.
  • A safe learning environment and a culture of mutual respect and kindness.
  • Small class sizes with devoted faculty who engage our students and foster creative and critical thinking. We also have a formal intervention plan for students with individualized needs.
  • A faith-based atmosphere that shapes personal and moral character.

We measure our success by academic achievement, test scores and so much more, including the ongoing evaluation of our strong standards, the social-emotional wellbeing of our students, and the commitment and engagement of our faculty, staff, families and benefactors.

From preschool through the teenage years, we carefully guide our students and shape them to become virtuous young people of strong faith and character. While they may come from diverse backgrounds, they all graduate from the Academy infused with a love of God, ready to lead and to serve in making a positive impact in the world.
