ACT of Connecticut opened in 2018 creating a cultural center that spans 30 acres of the former Schlumberger property. Its mission is to bring Broadway caliber theater, executed by Broadway professionals, to the Ridgefield area including top rate contemporary productions, new works, and re-imagined revivals.
ACT of Connecticut produces limited engagement runs of well-known Broadway plays and musicals, as well as world premiere plays and musicals by the next generation of writers and composers. The theater company produces four shows per year, with each show including Broadway professionals and Ridgefield’s professional actors and actresses. In addition to fully produced, main stage productions, the producers launch youth education classes, summer camps, workshops, and a conservatory program for high school students.
Two exciting youth performance opportunities at ACT of CT in Summer 2021!
ACT of CT's Summer Performance Camp
July 26 - August 7, 2nd - 5th grade
Campers will rehearse and present a brand-new, clever musical, written specifically for our Summer Performance Camp. Keeping in line with ACT of CT's "Into the Woods" theme from this season, Timberland is a fun-filled children's musical, incorporating well known and beloved Broadway music and telling the story of three kids who are summoned to a distant planet called Timberland, in order to reverse a terrible curse and save Timberland's majestic forest. Campers will learn introductory musical theatre skills, including beginning vocal technique, choreography, and improvisation. Additional theatre activities and workshops will be incorporated into the camp schedule, including theatre games and special guests. Check out the ACT of CT website at https://www.actofct.org/summer-camp for more information and email email@example.com to register!
