Monroe Summer Day Camp, located at the air-conditioned Rexford House, offers a full-day weekly program where campers will engage in daily planned group activities including an optional field trip day and a water and inflatable slides day once a week.
The staff of Monroe Summer Day Camp believes in fostering creativity, experiencing the outdoors as much as possible, and sparking the interest of your camper. Daily activities include arts and crafts, gym, Lego lab, cooking, playground, and more.
Ages: Pre-K (turning 4 prior to December 31st) through 7th grade.
Hours: 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday
Early Drop-off: Starts at 7:30am - additional fee
Late Pick-up: Until 5:30pm - additional fee
Half-day Hours (PreK and Kindergarten Only): 9:00am to 12:00pm
Half-day campers do not attend field trips.

Weekly Session Information & Themes
SESSION 1: KICKIN’ OFF SUMMER -JUNE 17 TO JUNE 21
When school’s out, our fun begins! Campers will enjoy an action-packed week with games, sports, and getting-to-know-you activities. We will also be taking a trip to Urban Air to jump into the start of summer!
SESSION 2: ANIMAL EMBASSY -JUNE 24 TO JUNE 28
Cover your ears because you're gonna hear us ROAR this week! Whatever your favorite sea animal, no matter how big or small, we will be sure to see many of them at the Maritime Aquarium! Campers will be making all kinds of animal crafts and helping with an animal shelter drive.
SESSION 3: PLANET EARTH - JULY 1 TO JULY 5 **NO CAMP, THURSDAY, JULY 4TH
We will be learning all about how to care for both the people and environment of planet Earth. Campers will be planting to benefit nature and holding a food drive to benefit those in need. There will also be some special community helpers visiting throughout the week to explain how they help others!
SESSION 4: COLOR WARS - JULY 8 TO JULY 12
Have your camper join the MSDC team this week and pick their favorite team color! We will practice all week to get ready for camp color wars! Campers will be coming home exhausted after fun filled days tossing, throwing, kicking, and team building. We will also have a visit from the Masuk High School boys soccer team and swim at the Newtown Community Center!
SESSION 5: WILD AND CRAZY KIDS - JULY 15 TO JULY 19
Campers will come home tired and dirty this week! There will be relay races, kickball games, and a trip to Bounce Xtreme, where we will have the entire facility to ourselves!
SESSION 6: ADVENTURELAND - JULY 22 TO JULY 26
Who doesn't love adventure! This week will be packed with all types of activities to excite campers; a trip to Quassy for rides and the water park, scavenger hunts, camp wide games, and so much more!
SESSION 7: ROARIN’ WATERS - JULY 29 TO AUGUST 2
There’s no better way to escape the summer heat than by cooling down with water games and water slides! We will also be leaping into the pool and zooming down the water slides at Splashdown Beach, so get ready…get set…SPLASH!
SESSION 8: FIESTA - AUGUST 5 TO AUGUST 9
Bounce on over to the annual MSDC carnival! Cotton candy! Sno cones! Moon bounce! Giant water slide! Tie-dye and carnival themed games! Campers always have a blast this week as they prepare for the best days of the summer.
SESSION 9: HOLIDAY HOOPLA - AUGUST 12 TO AUGUST 16
Can you imagine celebrating your favorite holidays all in one week? Get ready for five days of fun, as each day will be a new celebration! We will wear green for St. Patrick’s Day, throw on a costume for Halloween, and even hunt for Easter eggs! There will also be a trip to the beach to celebrate a wonderful summer.
SESSION 10: SO LONG SUMMER - AUGUST 19 TO AUGUST 23
We have planned a fun-filled week to end the summer in style and get everyone ready for their return back to school. You do not want your camper to miss our summer finale, complete with a trip to The Cave for laser tag, mini golf, and some arcade fun!
