The Southport School Summer Academic Program provides individualized, grade-appropriate, research-based academic support for all public and private school students entering grades 1-9 who are not achieving their full potential because of a language-based learning difference or attention issue.
Taught by The Southport School’s expert teaching staff, the Summer Academic Program emphasizes skills-building and learning strategies. While academically rigorous, the Summer Academic Program also incorporates project-based learning, games, and assistive technology where appropriate.

Skills Sharpeners - Students Entering Grades 1-6
Monday, July 1 - Tuesday, July 30
8:00am-12:00pm
Students are grouped into small classes by ability and age with respect to grade. Students participate in all four skills sharpening classes and multi-modal lessons, including Tutorial, Literature, Writing, and Mathematics.

Students learn strategies and tools to be successful in school. Students can enroll in up to two workshops per session. Workshops include Math, Reading, Writing, Study.
