The Trumbull Nature & Arts Center’s Lead Environmental Educator will demonstrate the boiling of sap into syrup while telling the story behind maple sugaring in New England and its Native American origins. With photos and natural objects, he’ll explain the amazing science of sap flow, and the differences in syrup grades. We'll take a short walk to the firepit to observe the evaporation process. All participants will get to taste a sample of real Connecticut maple syrup.
